With typical 'banana palm' leaves, the Chinese Yellow Banana plant is itself very attractive, but it is the large yellow flower that really catches the eye and surprises visitors to your garden with this plant.
Smaller than many banana plants, the leaves emerge from the top of a 'stem', on a plant that only reaches a height of 1.5 metres.
The Chinese Yellow Banana plant is reasonably hardy, but best protected during frost.
It likes to be grown in sun or partial shade, but is also often grown indoors in a container.
Because of its restricted maximum height it also makes a very popular and attractive terrace plant, and good for smaller gardens.
