Chinese Yellow Banana - Musa lasiocarpa
With typical 'banana palm' leaves, in itself very attractive, it is the large yellow flower that really catches the eye with this chinese yellow banana plant.
The leaves emerge from the top of a 'stem', on a plant that only reaches a height of 1.5 metres.
The plant is reasonably hardy, but best protected during frost. It likes sun or partial shade, but is also often grown indoors in a container.
Because of its restricted maximum height makes a very popular and attractive terrace plant, and good for smaller gardens.
